 Housing Association donates cash to local Family Centre

Tai Ceredigion Housing Association recently attended the Family Centre in Lampeter to donate a cheque at their Christmas party and give their thanks to the team for the recent support. TC, Tai Ceredigion’s friendly mascot with Eleri Jenkins, Tai Ceredigion’s Director of Housing officially handed over the cheque to Jade Mason co-ordinator of the Family Centre, and then joined the children in the festive fun.

Jade Mason, the co-ordinator of Lampeter’s Family Centre said “We value Tai Ceredigion’s support during these hard times. Our centre is an integral part of the community in Lampeter with activities for families and carers. We would like to thank Tai Ceredigion for their kind donation which will be put to good use.”

Eleri Jenkins, Tai Ceredigion’s Director of Housing said “We would like to thank the team at the Family Centre for their recent support and wish them the best for 2012.”

The Family Centre in Lampeter is open four days a week. If you fancy popping along the opening times are: Tuesday - 9.00 -3.00, Wednesday - 9.00 -3.00, Thursday - 9.00 -3.00, Friday - 10.30 - 12.30 for young parents.

New Manager appointed at housing association to oversee growing maintenance team

Local Housing Association Tai Ceredigion has recently appointed Aled Jones from Rhos, near Llandysul as its new Direct Labour Organisation Manager at its headquarters in Lampeter. Aled will be responsible for the workforce of 50 craftsmen, foremen and support staff that provides maintenance work on homes, as well as delivering an emergency repair service to tenants.

Aled has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the private sector, having worked for property development companies such as Barrat Developments, Lovell Partnerships, Countryside Properties and Crest Nicholson whilst also developing schemes as an individual. Aled said “I am delighted to have joined Tai Ceredigion and look forward to working with the DLO team as we develop our in-house skills to apply external wall insulation, fitting solar panels and offer a competitive service to private householders within the next few months.”

Llyr Edwards, Director of Property Services at Tai Ceredigion said “We would like to wish Aled well in his new post and look forward to working with him. Our DLO team has grown considerably in the last two years through employing local people and giving local apprentices the opportunity to develop their skills. We pride ourselves on providing an effective maintenance service for our tenants and feel there is an opportunity for others within Ceredigion to also benefit from this. Aled will play a key role in developing the DLO and delivering the service.”
